Bible Phonics Plus APPS Level 2 (6-8 years) There are five (5) apks in the Level 2 Bible Phonics Plus tool which are specifically designed for kids between the ages of 6 to 8. These apks assist give your kid the skills to smoothly transit from being an emergent and early reader to a fluent, confident and competent reader. 1.Long Vowels – This apk teaches your kid to the long vowels and exposes them to their sounds. The long vowel song teaches the kid the long vowel sounds while fortifying within the kid how good God’s Word is. If God said it; I trust it; I know His Word is real. The long vowel sounds featured in this apk are: a_e; ai; ay; e_e; ee, ea, i_e; ie; igh; o_e; oa; oe; u_e; ue; ew; long e – y; long e – ey; long i – y; short oo; long oo; eu; ei; ea; aw; au; eer; ore; eigh; ey; ie; long o – ow; ou; ow; oi; oy’ ew; are; air; ear. There are over 300 long vowels words for your kid to discover. 2.R-controlled Vowels – When a vowel is followed by an r, it makes a unique sound. These vowels are called r-controlled vowels – ar; er; ir; or; ur. There are over 50 r-controlled vowel words for your kid to explore as they play the games. 3.Consonant Digraph and Silent Letters – This apk highlights digraphs – sh; ch; wh; th (voiced); th (unvoiced). Consonant digraphs are letters that come together to create one sound. The silent letters taught are: l; k; b; w and p. There are over 100 digraphs and silent words for your kid to learn as they play the mini games. The mini games serve to reinforce the kid grasp of the digraph and silent letter sounds. 4.Beginning Blends – In order for your kid to read proficiently, they need to learn how to blend individual sounds smoothly together into words without choppy pauses between the sounds. This apk will facilitate your kid with the skill of blending letters to create words. The blends your kid will learn are: bl; cl; fl; gl; pl; sl; br; cr; dr; fr; gr’ pr; tr; wr; sc; sk; sm; sn; sp; st and sw. There are approximately 300 beginning blend words for your kid to learn. There are also over 40 sentences featuring the beginning blend words. 5. Ending Blends – This apk highlights the ending blends. This apk will give your kid the skill of speaking the ending blend sounds in words. There are approximately 200 ending blend words for your kid to discover. These ending blends are: ct; ft; mp; nk; nd; nt; ld; lp; lf; lt; pt; rd; sk; sp and st. There are also 30 sentences highlighting ending blend words.
