“Chainsaw Fighter is a brutally good awesome time.” 148apps (Editors Choice) “…everything you wish in a digitised ver of the Mini games Workshop classic…” Gamercast.net “...an absolute classic…very real to the original…” Digiboard Mini games Reviews "Perfectly judged, brutally demanding and almost impossible to place down..." The Guardian Updated! Fresh equipment cards added such as Combat Shotgun and options to play in classic mode without additional equipment! Chainsaw Fighter from Mini games Workshop is the classic nail-biting mini game for one strong-nerved user: It's the year 2032 and spatial warping has opened a hole into other dimension in the midst of the old municipal buildings at the heart of Manhattan. Bizarre and risky monsters are flooding into our dimension, intent on destruction. Behind their actions is a controlling intelligence known as 'Darkness', who intends to drag Fresh York back into the warp – destroying it utterly! Air strikes, ground assaults and WMDs have all failed to stop the swarming forces from beyond. All that remains is a single hope: a shadowy ex-special forces soldier, enhanced for combat and known only as 'Chainsaw Fighter'. Equipped with all the recent high-tech armaments, he must war his method through to the trans-dimensional ground-zero and conquer Darkness. Not only are there swarms of zombies, mutants, traps, Chaos Agents and another twisted denizens between him and Darkness, time is the opponent too! Only an hour remains to save Fresh York before it is torn from our globe forever. First published as a solo boardgame in 1987, it has been updated, translated and re-engineered for the digital generation. In Chainsaw Fighter it's just you versus both the clock and a tide of evil! Can you prevail where all others have failed? You only have 60 mins to save Fresh York!

razorblade7754: Really recreates the experience from the tabletop ver, definitely worth a test if you like a challenge and like easy but intereractive video test.

Paul Maher: Good fun. Very challenging.

Jacob Shaw: Faithful recreation of the board mini game. Extra difficulties create it more friendly to fresh users but the UI buttons are a bit too little and to close together on a regular smartphone screen. The price is a bit high for what it is but if you've ever played the board mini game then it's probably worth it for nostalgia alone.

Jennifer Kagemann: Difficult. Unforgiving. These are understatements. Chainsaw Fighter was the blernsball of '80s card mini games. You will lose repeatedly. People who cheered Harry Potter catching the golden snitch will detest this mini game, because CW is about the another squad, winning 135 to 0, only to lose the match at the latest second because all of your hard work was just jazz hands for the crowd while dumb luck decided the true outcome. This mini game is for people who don't mind seeing the awful guys victory. You'll see it a lot.

Andrew Evanson: Remember me and my Bro playing this in the 80's. This ver really brought back those memories. I'm sure the original artwork is used for the card illustrations which helps. Really guys, everything about this mini game works.

Jamie Burcham: Faithful representation of the 1987 Games-Workshop single user board mini game. Fanatics of dice rolling will especially like this mini game. Played on my tf300t Asus smartphone as well as my Galaxy S3 smartphone. Both devices run flawlessly. Best of all no in apk purchases. Suggest for fanatics of dicey board mini games. A+

Stephen Jacques: As an old school board-gamer and Mini games Workshop fanatic, to have Chainsaw Fighter in 'digital' form squeezed into my smartphone is pure Awesomesauce! War Darkness in bitesize chunks or spend all day slaying the Zombie horde - whatever you select you'll not search a more addictive mobile 'tactic' mini game, born in the 80's, updated for the 21st Century! [Warning] VERY addictive! Think Rogue-like Solitare ;-)

Paul Cherry: This mini game accurately simulates what it would be like to be an '80s action character fighting...zombies and things. Armed with a chainsaw. Sometimes. This mini games is a straight copy of the board mini game, itself a product of '80s board mini game design which holds randomness above all else. It doesn't pull it's punches, and all those punches will be to the groin or kidneys. You have been warned.

Doctor X: Very replayable, thoroughly enjoyed it and still do. Feels like a 80s action film! I can see the trailer now... (Fade in: The Fresh York skyline. The sun sets and then all the lights in the buildings come on, followed by them going out one at a time, then two, then three, punctuated by screams each time.) Don LaFontaine: In a globe where day turns to night…and then forgets to turn back into day again, only one man stands between us and eternal Darkness. He is…THE CHAINSAW WARRIOR! (Dramatic chord and smashcut of mini game logo.) DLF: (Cont’d) Meet Not Snake Plisskin. A troubled loner with a dark past and only one love in his life. The Girl: I love you, Not Snake Plisskin! NSP: Sorry, baby. (Picks up chainsaw.) There’s only room for ONE love in my life. DLF: But now, he’s got to do the impossible: Storm a building full of the living dead and destroy the evil Darkness once and for all. (Until the sequel.) (Slash of NSP kicking one zombie off the balcony while chainsawing other. He turns and looks at the camera.) NSP: Drugs are for commies! DLF: Not Snake Plisskin IS.. THE CHAINSAW WARRIOR!

John McNichol: Hard mini game, i trust that is kept real to the card ver. Considering this was adapted from a card mini game the devs have done a good job on the presentation; top comic intro and animations throughout. Awesome pick up and play mini game, well suited to mobile.

Chris Shockey: Just as fun as I remembered@

Adam Gurney: After some very fast updates (yes, plural), hats off to all of you involved, now working on both devices. Haven't had a possibility to play it yet, so a tentative 4 *'s (I've played the original board mini game) with a further review once I've place some time (and horrendous deaths) in!

Reed Lariviere: Does it take an hour to play?
User rated this game 4/5 on 2016-01-29
Richard Raybould: Love playing it but even on simple I can only receive about 75% of the method through the decks which makes it a bittersweet experience in my opinion

Reece Pilgreen: This mini game is good. Its had my attention for hours. Experimenting with the various device loadouts is compelling, mainly because it is the only thing you have ANY control over. Sure there are another choices you can create, but its all in the end a mini game of possibility. Something I feel wasn't well captured was the feel for the mini games egregious tone. When I think of chainsaw fighter, I think of buckets of blood, akin to the feel for another products of the time like "massive metal" the film. Also, too expensive.

Peter Lomax: Title screen then back to desktop. Tried the Humble Bundle ver, it worked but was upside down. Shame because it was a good adaption of the boardgame.
