Assassin Instinct is a fighting video mini game developed by Rare and published by Midway and Nintendo. It was released as an arcade mini game in the fall of 1994 and, the following year, ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) . The game's plot involves an all-powerful corporation organising a fighting competition. The story was adapted in a limited comic ebook series published under the short-lived Acclaim Comics imprint.Killer Instinct features a few video test elements special to fighting mini games of the time. Instead of fighting opponents in best-of-three rounds bouts, each user has two life bars. The user that depletes the another player's life bars first wins the match.Killer Instinct plays like a lot of another fighting mini games, in which the user controls a hero to beat an enemy in a one-on-one encounter.
