  Sourirajan VR: I am assuming October 13th modernize broke cast functionality. None of my devices can recognize my Sony Android device TV. I tried factory resetting the television, rebooted the router and nothing seems to fix this problem. Modernize: Oct 17 modernize fixed it. Its working now. Awesome job Google!

  Adam Torborg: The cast receiver apk seems to not have the same compatibility as the built in Chromecast firmware. There are a few apks that I can cast to using the Chromecast, that I cannot to the Nexus User. I haven't been able to document the exact reasons, but I think it is this apk. The most latest modernize created it so I was able to play videos using one of the apks that did not work in the past. Others still do not work.

  Lara & Mark Cornelius: Works good with my Nexus User when casting from my computer or smartphone, but not good at all with Google Home. Worked good the first day with Google Home device, then ever since GH can't cast to the Nexus user at all. Hoping for a fix soon.

  Gary Chen: Has casting compatibility issues Gives a "media failed to load for casting" when casting a Flixster Ultraviolet library film to the Nexus User. However, it casts correctly to a Chromecast. There are apparently another apks that have this trouble. Not encouraging when Android device TV cast functionality is worse than the Chromecast it is supposed to be a superset of. And that it is still not fixed after all this time.

  Scott Frix: This apk is horribly flawed. Not even Netflix works with it, although another apks work ok, and some not at all. It's the only reason I switched from Android device to official Android device TV but it doesn't work nearly as well as a Chromecast.

  Paul Edworthy: Ver 1.21.75534 (28th Oct 2016) updated on my Philips 49PUS7170 Android device TV with tool ver QV15E.0.5.38.117 Casting Youtube videos had finally been fixed (garbled 2nd video due to 4k), after not working for over half a year and since purchase, then this modernize comes out and randomly gets stuck "loading...". This is a various problem, but effectively all I can do is test to cast a video, then attempt other when it gets stuck loading, then if I disconnect 2 times, I have to reboot the television, since any source is now blank. I've had circa 2 months (out of 10) of working casting, I can once once more no longer believe it enough to use reliably. It would be good to have a fix, and while you're at it, please work with Philips to bring 4k youtube videos to this year's 4k Android device TVs and modernize the Youtube for Android device TV apk too, it's ancient compared to standard apk.

  Lukas Gabi: Theoretically good, but so unreliable on my Shield TV. Honestly, I'm now surprised when it actually works, because most of the time it doesn't. To fix it, I have to reboot my SATV which takes forever, then it works once more maybe two or three times. This is so inconvenient I'm not using this anymore and I really miss having a Chromecast.

  Bryan Morgante: Using Google Cast Receiver on a Sony Android device TV. I expected this to work exactly like Chromecast, but surprisingly it's worse. Does not have feature parity with an actual Chromecast. Netflix and HBO Now do not work at all with this; have to use the Android device TV apks only. YouTube and Twitch do work exactly as expected. Don't understand why some apks treat this differently from Chromecast. No ability to customize the "daydream" screen unlike Chromecast. This wild inconsistency between what could be near identical Google casting receivers is inexcusable.
