GPS Speedometer is a speedometer application that uses your phone's internal GPS module to calculate your current speed and display it with really big, simple to read, LCD-like fonts. It will also display your total travel time, your average speed, maximum reached speed, your heading and elevation, a nice compass and forward and lateral accelerations. #### Now with HUD (head-up display) mode* - just press "Menu" - "Enable HUD mode" and place your smartphone face up on the dashboard, under the windshield; the screen will mirrored and it will be reflected by the windshield. *HUD mode needs more CPU power than normal mode. Features: - High accuracy. The speed calculated based on GPS data is more accurate than the one displayed by your car's speedometer - HUD mode - It supports both imperial and metric troops - 5 predefined color themes accessible - It can record your path, speed, distance, and elevation and save them in a KML file (for Google Earth) - just press "Menu", choose "Settings" and "Record track". - It can work in the background, so it can record your movement and speed even while you're talking on the smartphone. This means that if you really wish to exit the application, you have to press "Menu" and choose "Exit". It requires the following permissions: - WAKE_LOCK in order to prevent the screen from turning off - ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION (GPS based place) for reading GPS data - WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE in order to save the KML file Please note that while I've inspected the application on a few Android device devices, there are method to a lot of various Android device devices to guarantee that it will work just ok on all of them, so if you encounter a trouble with the application, just drop me an email with your smartphone model and a short description of your trouble; I will do my best to fix it ASAP. A Google user: Really slow at getting up to speed. The same problem when slowing down. Lacks setting options, such as brightness, color, etc. I could have inspected it, before buying it.
