Guardian by Elexa is a standalone leak and flood detection/prevention system that installs with no programs or plumber, and can automatically notify you on your smart smartphone or shut off your water main if water is detected in your home. Guardian currently consists of two pieces of hardware - the Valve Controller and the Water Detector. The Valve Controller installs on top of the existing water main valve and can be used with any ¼-turn ball valve from ½” - 1”, while the battery-powered Water Detectors are placed near plumbing fixtures and appliances to monitor the place for water leaks. The Water Detectors communicate wirelessly over a proprietary RF protocol with a max range of 1000 ft. directly with the Valve Controller (with no Hub,) and the moment water is detected, the Valve Controller will either notify the player and/or stop the water automatically. Aaron I.: Modernize. The latest apk modernize has vastly improved functionality when using an Android device device. Very well designed application. Decent begin. Had problems trying to pair the device to my home network. But it seems to be functioning now. Having problems trying to modernize the Guardian valve controller firmware. It's stuck trying to modernize from 3.2.8. I've tried cycling the unit's power but I still receive a prompt to modernize the FW. The word "Laundry" is also misspelled. It shows up as "Loundry". Any recommendations on how to proceed with the FW modernize? I also seem lose connection to the status of the valve and sensors from the apk. The sensors work and trigger the valve to close, but I don't receive notifications to my smartphone. And I can view the current status or temperature because it isn't synchronizing to the apk. So the network seems stable, just not the connection from apk to valve and sensors.

Adam Savering: The fresh firmware modernize on this valve has created it operate as it could. Unfortunately it took their customer service 2 days to answer to my email so I had a $400 dollar brick for a couple days. Time will tell on this product

The apk crashes occasionally and keeps telling that there is a firmware modernize accessible while there isn't. At the beginning I had to contact the help to seek assistance to pair and calibrate the controller, it would not remain connected to my Eero network. Their help remotely connected to the controller and updated to a beta ver, since then it has been good. However, I still receive the firmware notice every time I begin the apk. All another features seem to work. The devices thermometers don't sense properly, but honestly I don't care. It does what it needs to do... it shuts the when a leak is detected.
