"Even the blindest man ought to know that this beast is not like any of those things," he said. "He is exactly like a large fan." The fifth man was very blind. He seized the animal's tail. "Oh, foolish fellows!" he cried. "Any man with a grain of sense can see that he is exactly like a rope." The five blind men then quarreled all day about the elephant.
