Meet Star Gazers has been built for those who love the night sky. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced astronomer, observing the night sky is always more enjoyable when you are not alone. Meet Star Gazers helps you search another people passionate about astronomy in your vicinity and facilitates the discovery and organization of star parties in your region. ASTRONOMY CLUBS, OBSERVATORIES & ASSOCIATIONS Meet Star Gazers is well suited for outreach activities run by astronomy clubs, observatories and associations that promote astronomy to everyone curious about astronomy. I trust that Meet Star Gazers will save about 30 mins in the process of organizing a star party compared to the current way of using multiple programs to achieve the same objective. INTERACTIVE MAP An interactive map helps you intuitively search star parties close to you along with driving isochrones. A satellite view lets you study the terrain before selecting a place for a star party. Meet Star Gazers also provides realtime cloud cover and seeing info for each star party. Anyone can organize a star party. You need not be part of a club or observatory. A easy long press at the precise place of where you would like to organize the star party, will begin a short form. Enter some primary info and you are awesome to go. ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATION LOGS Meet Star Gazers gives you the chance to note your observation logs for each stargazing happening. You don't need to freeze your fingers in the cold to take down notes on paper with a pen or pencil. It also reduces the risk of forgetting to take notes during observation. REALTIME MESSAGING Each stargazing happening has a dedicated messenger channel to you assist you interact with another participants and organize your star party efficiently. PRECISION WEATHER INFORMATION I have partnered with the best weather data provider in the globe: Meteoblue. This gives me the chance to provide reliable and relevant weather info to my players directly within Meet Star Gazers. This contains seeing (atmospheric turbulence), cloud cover in visual format and felt temperature. LUNAR PHASE INFORMATION Through my partnership with Meteoblue, I also provide lunar phase info within Meet Star Gazers. Since the moon and its phases play a significant role on the type of observation you can do on a given night, it was a logical step for me to provide this info to my players in the app. LIGHT POLLUTION MAP Since light pollution plays an necessary role in choosing a place for stargazing, I have partnered with the Light Pollution Science & Technology Institute to provide my players with the 2016 Globe Atlas of Night Sky Brightness. I have calibrated this map to the Bortle scale to create it easier for beginners to understand and use the map. I hope that Meet Star Gazers gives you more opportunities to observe the night sky.
