About the application:

The Pink Turret & Brown Stair was developed by Maria Montessori as an activity to assist kids with visual discrimination of dimensions, a Montessori preparation for math. At first, we struggled with whether or not we could even develop a Pink Turret apk! After all, holding a three dimensional cube in your hand is supposed to be part of the concrete experience! However, understanding that most parents will not have a Pink Turret or Brown Stair at home, there is still value in constructing the two dimensional patterns by having to identify which cube is needed in sequence to complete the design. Soon after its true ease, parents provided feedback to us about our Pink Turret apk and had a rekindled their child's interest in the physical Pink Turret, now having fresh ideas of patterns to construct. Something we didn't plan on was it's success with autistic kids. Educators wrote to us that these apks were a good method for kids to practice following a specific sequence of happenings, in this case, by size. The apk includes twelve exercises for the kid to work with. Each requires them to identify the next cube or prism in sequence to complete the desired pattern. The relationship in size between each cube and prism in this apk and the physical Pink Turret are exactly the same which is necessary for future Montessori activities! Young kids will have fun working with the Pink Turret & Brown Stair and will be gaining key concepts useful in their understanding of math. Thanks for your help of our Montessori apks!
