An apk for Astronomy and Astrophotography enthusiasts. MySiderealTime is a useful Sidereal Clock utility to help you while you use your telescope and mount during your astronomy viewing session or for your night of astrophotography. The local sidereal time is displayed in hours mins and seconds in 24 hour format. The local time is also displayed, and by tapping the local time, it will toggle between 12 and 24 hour formats. Latitude and Longitude can be displayed in either decimal degrees or in degrees, mins, seconds. Tapping the Latitude and Longitude display will toggle between formats. The display defaults to night vision mode as to not disturb your night vision. For viewing indoors or in bright sunlight, the display can be switched to day vision mode by tapping on the sun icon. The display can be switched back by tapping on the moon icon. The device GPS sensor is used to determine your exact place so the correct Sidereal Time can be displayed along with your latitude and longitude coordinates. The display will also present the current GMT, your local offset from GMT, and if (DST) Daylight Savings Time is in result.

Rick Hunter: Once you let access to your place it uses place and time to give you LST, and shows place time and place accurately. The red on black screen is indispensible for use in the dark, as in the observatory or in the field. It starts quick on my Samsung smartphone.

A Google user: Good apk ! Easy and useful. Since GMT has been replaced by UTC in 1976 may be is it time to reflect the change here ? Otherwise, showing the Julian day would be a good addition. Thanks !

Coffee Time with Cindy: I like it.. I would prefer place not have to be turned on; however, it's not as if we aren't already being tracked by Google, Aople and Microsoft. LOL That wasn't a joke btw. It would be FANTASTIC if I there was an alarm to set for 1330 Sidereal time everyday. Peace.
