IMPORTANT NOTE: This does not directly link to your MetroCards. The MTA does not provide a method to do this so it is not possible. This apk only provides a method for you to manually hold track of your MetroCards and their balances, but it also makes it very simple to do so. Why do I need this app? When you add at least $5.50 to your MetroCard, you keep an extra 5% in value. However, this results in odd remaining balances. What this apk does is present you the smallest amount you can add to your card that will give you the smallest remaining balance after taking the desired number of rides. For example, if you wish to take three rides, the total fare is $8.25. However, if you add $8.25 to your MetroCard, you'll receive the 5% premium, resulting in a total balance of $8.66. After you take those three rides, you'll have $0.41 remaining on your card. When you use this apk, it will tell you to only add $7.90 to take three rides, because with the 5% premium, you'll have a total balance of $8.30, resulting in a balance of only $0.05 after taking those three rides. Congratulations! You just saved $0.35! ($8.25 - $7.90) Note: A reason you'll often have at least a little balance is that you may only add cash to a MetroCard in increments of $0.05. Highlighted rows in the table tell you that if you take the specified number of rides after adding that amount, you will have zero remaining balance on your MetroCard after taking that a lot of rides. Free versus Pro The Gratis ver allows you to hold track of only one MetroCard and includes advertisements.
