Just one tap to change the language. Online, you can also download labels approved for Washington State* and connect to WPS training and information. With this apk on their phones, farmworkers applying pesticides in apple and pear orchards across Washington state can access this info for 40 commonly used pesticides and safely do their job. The app’s common sense menu system helps them to quickly locate the specific info they need. No need to find through a multi-page booklet that is technical and complex. Growers, producers, managers, and handlers now have access to a risk management program that assists in minimizing pesticide-related disease, crop and environmental hurt, and fiscal liability resulting from improper pesticide handling. This program bridges the language gap between the English pesticide labels and the mainly Latino and Spanish speaking workforce. As one Latino manager stated, “Reading it [the label security info] in Spanish helps me understand the English.” The apk is handy in remote places. The English & Spanish contextual translations are in the apk. No WiFi, cell or data connections needed.
