This apk is about Jewish Poland. And about photography. We greatly value the importance of historical photographs in teaching about the past, but also appreciate contemporary photography projects as a method of illustrating the current changes in the Polish-Jewish landscape. This apk presents photographs from Jewish Poland created by the most necessary photographers who worked here and directed their lenses at Polish-Jewish matters. These range from early photographic photos of Polish Jews, through the turmoil of the 20th century, to more latest projects documenting the Jewish presence in Poland, the continuity of Jewish tradition, and the rebirth of the Polish-Jewish community. We will also occasionally publish another visual materials such as a poster for a play or the front page of a newspaper… Image by photo, we trust this carefully curated collection will become a visually strong statement on Polish-Jewish history, allowing for an insightful look into the Jewish past and show in Poland beyond stereotypes and misconceptions.
