About the application:

This apk works with color-changing badges to measure formaldehyde. We spend 90% of our time indoors and the air in most of our homes includes formaldehyde. Formaldehyde exposure can worsen health. This apk and badge system allows players to measure their indoor formaldehyde exposure. The apk provides info on suggested formaldehyde levels and advices on reducing exposure if the concentration is high. Players will also be given the option to upload their results and complete a survey to make a national database of formaldehyde levels. The survey will ask about housing characteristics and also contain the option to report health symptoms. This database will assist researchers and community scientists better understand formaldehyde in housing. Creation of this apk was funded by National Science Foundation (NSF) grant 1645048. This apk was made by the authors and has not been reviewed by NSF.
