  Peter LaMarca: Convenient and works well So, when I got to the platform this morning , all the ticket vending machines were down. I was a bit panicked, until someone reminded me about the VRE mobile apk. Bought my 10 trip and step up tickets, 1-2-3, then the conductor scanned the code *boop*. Checkout was quick, storing my card was automatic, tickets were simple to search and use. I do accept with another reviewers that it might be easier if the apk opened to My Tickets, rather than Buy Tickets, but I didn't have any problem with it. Good apk

  Carlton Shufflebarger: Welcome to 21st century I applaud VRE for providing a more modern method to buy tickets. I had quit riding VRE because their ticketing process was stuck in the 1950s. Now that I have a convenient method to buy tickets I will begin riding VRE once more.

  Todd Andrew: No more silly validation tickets! My review is for the idea to make the apk rather than the quality (not enough use to rate). I stopped riding VRE after I got a $150 ticket for forgetting to validate. Given that I am not a regular rider and often have to literally run to catch my train, I am honestly surprised that I did not forget more often. The ticket machines also seem to be down quite frequently so any replacement for those is a welcome. I can finally be comfortable riding VRE once more. Thank you VRE.

  M H: Good concept, not so good in reality This apk makes it very simple to buy tickets, this is where it shines. Unfortunately, it is not so simple to use to display tickets. They could let an option to print tickets or have them sent in the mail. It is cumbersome and extremely annoying to load and navigate the apk to display your ticket daily. A paper ticket is more convenient on a train.

  Mike Schmoo: 7/4/17 Finally able to purchase via credit card once more! The fix for me was to go back into the "My Acc" section of the apk, and add a "postal code" for each credit card. After this, they now present up in the payment screen. However, please note that the payment screen has a little window at the top, that you will have to scroll down, in order to see your cards, and the split payment / submit button. (the window border is invisible) I hope this helps anyone else who's been stuck for a while.

  Tyler Garcia: Apk works well enough to use everyday. Docked a star because it will sometimes crash upon opening making me reopen it to use it. (Always works the second time) The most latest modernize created it hard to search the payment options, I have to scroll a 1 line item list to search it. Very annoying until I figured that out.

  Cristina Marrero: Concept is good! In reality the apk is impractical. Case in point: your smartphone battery dies, or you otherwise don't have immediate access to your mobile smartphone (mine fell out in my vehicle 10 mins before I boarded the train) so I had to plead with the conductor not to give me a summons as she sees me every single day and knows I have a monthly pass. It is a large inconvenience for regular commuters to have to wait until the conductor shows up (if at all) and then drag out the mobile just to validate what most staff already know. :)

If we lose the ability to purchase tickets are if we hold the ability to buy tickets for a while the rating with change accordingly.

  Jeff R: Why does the apk need to know my place? What better service is provided, if I give permission to determine my place. This is a mobile ticketing apk. Either I'm at a VRE station getting ready to board a train, or I'm not. There is no sensible reason for the apk to have place permissions.

  Juan Perez Perez: The apk is convenient. However, it has some serious challenges. 1) The apk is very slow. Interactions that could be instant take a long time to answer. 2) The feature set is highly limited. A VRE sponsored apk could have native help for checking schedules, and alerts. Also, the apk would benefit greatly from being available from the notifications screen when there is an active ticket. 3) opening the apk directly to the tickets instead of to the "buy" screen could at least be an option.

  Joseph Kain: Unnecessarily slow Simple to set up and buy tickets, but it's gone downhill since then. The response is unbelievably slow, meaning the conductor is always waiting for me to pull up my ticket. No matter what you do, the apk always opens in the "purchase tickets" screen - the typical VRE rider is 20-40 times more likely to use the "my tickets" screen than purchase tickets. The apk needs to begin in the "my tickets" screen, or on your active ticket.

  Tiffanie Smith: Would be good, but... I thought the slider for splitting payments was a good idea. That is, until I tried it. It is almost impossible to split payments accurately. It goes either too high or too low, can never receive the exact amount I need to split. Fix this to let inputting of actual amounts, and I may use the apk. Otherwise, it's useless to me. Which is a shame, as I was so excited to use it.

  Stephen Lesnick: The in-app "Submit Feedback" email address automatically rejects all messages, so I guess I'll submit it here. The apk crashes the first time I begin it, every time. Works ok the second time you begin it. This has happened twice a day for years, across 3 various phones. It mostly works once you finally receive it to begin. Once an modernize completely broke the apk and they didn't allow the conductors know, it needed an email to their help (back when they still accepted emails) to recover my tickets. Apparently there's some website where they post these problems but I don't know where it is. It's certainly not in the apk. So I guess it's technically functional.

  Patricia Young: Not dependable This apk has a mind of it's own. It can be very, very slow and I search I have to close it and begin a few times to receive it to work. It is very difficult to edit if you create an error. Some errors can cost you if you are charged twice for the same fare.

  Ceger ZA: YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS APP ABLE TO OPEN TO TICKETS. Or tell your conductors to chill out. This apk needs to be able to begin directly to a ticket I choose. At the very least the main menu add opposed to the purchase screen. Your own conductors receive annoyed having to wait for all the navigating one has to do to display a ticket. You have some very impatient and mad conductors.

  Ryan Boyer: Like others said, the train info and another programs are now gone. Also this has placed two VRE titles on my smartphone, one of which doesn't work but when you go to remove it it deletes both titles. Also I can not remeber before but this now asks for permission to use my smartphone place and if I do not wish to give it access to that, then I can not use the apk at all, even to pull up my already purchased ticket.

  Mark Wallace: This apk is slow. Not slow like molasses, slow like every possible interaction take 5 or 10 seconds. I accidentally bought 8 tenpacks of tickets because I hit the button 8 times before it responded. About 10-15% of the time even with a powerful cellular signal, the apk cannot resolve the DNS. I strongly recommend you validate your ticket long before the train arrives, because it will take you longer than a min or two. Every time the apk launches, it launches to the "buy tickets" screen, even though almost by definition you are going to use tickets more often than you buy them. The marketing for this apk says that you can use your WMATA benefits. Not real in my reality; I navigated through that menu a few times and it requires that you supply a number. I called tech help two or three times and was told that "You already know that number", which is quite possibly the least useful tech help tip that can be given. I'm told that I should receive a refund for the tickets that I erroneously bought, but quite frankly I think I'd rather burn the $80 dollars than talk to that tech help line once more.
